Things That Are Helping

  • Vitamins - B12 & D
  • Coffee with sugar & cream - mmmmm comfort in a cup with a caffeine kick to keep me going.
  • Phone/Text a friend - I use "my five" daily, at strategic points. They are company while I complete a yucky task, cheerleaders to motivate me, therapists to understand me. They are right there with me and gift me with their thoughts, tears and triumphs too. 
  • Just do it - I set a timer and just do what needs to be done as best as I can for the time that I am able. Pick up the toy, change the diaper, make the meal, enter the data, wipe the nose, wash the clothes...just keep on even if it is never caught up, even if I am not able to do my best every time, even if no one notices, just keep on.
  • Prayer - 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety upon Him for he cares for you.
  • Scripture - Philippians 4:8 Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.
  • Singing/Thinking Hymns - Great is Thy Faithfulness, It is Well, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, Ascribe to the Lord/Come & Sing Praises, Amazing Grace, Be Still and Know, Holy, Holy, Holy, Come Thou Fount...
  • Clear my conscience as it becomes cluttered - saying sorry as soon as I know I'm wrong, confessing my worry as soon as it starts wearing me down, adjust my attitude as soon as I notice it has gone crooked...at least I try and it sure helps if I succeed.
  • Inspirational listening - Focus on the Family daily broadcast, Michael Youssef, www.wordoftruthradio.com
  • Asking for help
  • Praying for others.
  • Thinking of the future - nothing lasts forever, not even bad moods, some day I will feel better.
  • Exercise, fresh air & sunshine 
  • Baby hugs, drooly kisses and knock knock jokes - paying attention to the fun little snippets from each day, recording them through pictures and anecdotes to look at and savour when I feel like giving up.
  • Tears - sometimes I just let them drip and splash and wash away the lumps and bumps of the day.
  • Sleep
