Torn

I will be teaching for 4 more weeks.
I don't know what I'm doing!
I miss my kids at home.
I worry that I won't be able to teach the kids what they need to know.

I have benefits for 4 more weeks.
I can get a massage and have my teeth cleaned!
I have been complimented by teachers and parents and they are happy that I am staying.
I'm glad God has provided for our needs with this job.

Over all, I'm glad it is spring break!

My Accomplishment

Well, I haven't posted in a while because I wanted to savor my 100th post. I didn't realize it was #100 until a few days after I posted. If I had known I would have written something much more profound. Oh well, that window is closed, besides I don't think my limp dishrag of a brain has anything profound left in it. So I will crow about my latest achievement...

I am finished report cards!!!!!!!!

These are the first report cards I have ever done. It was not a fun, or easy task. I'm sorry to all my past teachers and professors that I did not laminate and keep all my report cards in fancy binders and look at them periodically through out my life. They are a heck of a lot of work and deserve a lot more respect than I ever gave mine!

Since my eyes are red and my neck and sholders have curved into a massive hump, I think I will keep this post short. I just wanted to mark the moment.

Now I'm going home to my wonderful husband who has cooked a chicken and baked bread! I will snuggle with my cute kids who miss me and shout a delighted "MOMMY!" when I walk in the door. I will read one chapter of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, then I will call it a day.

Happy weekend everyone!

Self Control!

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything.
They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that
the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband
never to open or ask her about. For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his
wife’s bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000. He asked her about the contents. “When we were to be married,” she said, “my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.”

The little man was so moved, he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry at him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.

“Honey,” he said, “that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money” Where did it
come from?” “Oh, she said, “that’s the money I made from selling the dolls.”

Glad Minutes

It's been a while since I've sat down for 10 minutes and just thought of all the things that I'm happy about. Here it goes:
  • DH put in a new toilet with dual flush!
  • I was given a compliment after school 2 days ago by a coworker.
  • It is getting lighter out for longer.
  • I no longer drive to and from school in the dark (just to).
  • My parents are home from their vacation in Thailand and we get to go see them tonight!
  • I got to spend a lot of time with friends and family this week and though I was tired I was not terribly behind or lacking in my work.
  • I am learning how to do my job, and it's not too bad most of the time.
  • My kids are funny and cute.
  • I'm reading a fiction book, just for fun!
  • My DH has been taking care of the dishes and the meals.
  • Coffee is hot and plentiful at school. It even tastes good.
  • I have benefits!
  • I got paid!
  • The cold snap has ended and when it was cold our vehicle stayed reliable.
  • There is outside recess all day today! Yahoo!
  • I've lost 12lbs
  • I have been encouraged by many very kind students and staff at school, as well as friends and family outside of school.
  • I am able to sleep till my alarm now.
  • I have internet at home most of the time and can keep in touch with people better.
  • I'm healthy.

I'm an ESFJ

Extravert, Sensor, Feeler, Judger (ESFJ)
ESFJs represent between 9 and 13% of the U.S. population

ESFJs are friendly and talkative "people" people. Sympathetic, gracious and conscientious, ESFJs are very concerned with the needs of others and eager to help in real and practical ways. Responsible, literal, and organized, ESFJs are bound by their sense of duty and commitment, and enjoy being active and cooperative members of committees and organizations. Highly sensitive to indifference, criticism or conflict, ESFJs are generally quite decisive and like to have things settled. They need harmonious relationships with others and work hard to achieve and maintain them. In fact, they often idealize whatever or whomever they admire. ESFJs often go out of their way to do something helpful and nice for others and especially enjoy being responsive in times of trouble or great celebration.

House Envy

I live in an old trailer that is going to be renovated as we are able. Sometimes it gets me down when I see other people's digs, because that ugly green monster in my head (Envy) starts making nasty comments in my ear. I know that I will not always live in a run down trailer. I know that when the renos are complete I will be happy and proud of our accomplishments. I know that I should be thankful to have a warm place to call my own.
I battle my house envy in two ways.
  1. by ignoring and avoiding anything to do with home improvement or furnishings or anything housey
  2. by trying to appreciate and enjoy the neat projects and ideas other people are doing, and filing them away in my mind for a later date.
Right now I'm having fun looking at other people's ideas and filing them away. Here is something I think is cute and want to try someday.
