My Girl

These days:

  • Matia is trying to say everything: effant (elephant), ba hoe (back hoe), water, sweater (I get those two mixed up), phone, wagon, Dade, Daddy, Mommy, snack, beetreat (big treat), potty, pee, poop, show, chair, mess, book, mine, yep! no...pretty much anything we say she says.
  • She likes to sleep in, but doesn't like to go to bed.
  • She really wants to be potty trained. Every time Dade uses the toilet she lifts up her dress or shirt and repeats "potty?" over and over.
  • Her hair is growing, slowly. She still has a bit of a receding hair line. It is angel hair, spider web fine and white blond.
  • Matia likes to sing, her repotoire includes: Jesus Loves Me, Johnny Apple Seed and Happy Birthday.
  • Matia's personality is a touch more intense than her brother's. He feelings are easily hurt by a look or a word, and it is difficult to soothe her once she feels she's been wronged.
  • On the flip side, Matia is my cuddley child. She carries her stuffed "effant" everywhere and hold's on to his ear with the same hand she has her thumb stuffed in her mouth, points to my lap and says "knee? knee?" She is happy to sit on my knee and watch her brother play. I love soaking it up.
  • Matia is very cautious around men, hot tubs, heights, grass, sand...pretty much any new experience or situation.
  • Matia is kind of mischevious. She likes to tease and laugh at me like a little imp, but she does not recieve teasing in as good humour as she gives it (just like me).
  • Her favorite games lately are: Drive Thru (she asks if we want a hamburger and fries, then pretends to make them and says "er go" (here you go), and "change" and pretends to give you money, tickle (she tickles my/daddy's feet and stays tckletckletckle), photographer (she tells her subject to say "cheese" then clicks her tounge.

She's my Matia, and I'm so in love with her!
