A Bit About My Blog

So, I started blogging as a way to gather my thoughts about, well, everything. One predominate thing I wanted to achieve was to direct my thinking into a more positive pattern. I want to think happy thoughts. Well, not just that, I want to fix my mind on whatever is true, right, pure, holy.... I want to like myself and be able to teach my children how to have healthy self concepts too. So to that end, I am practicing here, on my blog. things I do to reinforce positive thoughts are...
  • Read other inspiring blogs.
  • Write about small joys.
  • Ask questions about my uncertainties and work them through in my mind until they come out in my writing.
  • Read people's comments about my questions and small joys.
  • Post pictures that I like of myself and loved ones.
  • Make lists of my favorite things.
Sometimes, when I read other blogs I fall into the old compare trap; I'm not as deep as some, or as enduring as others, or as funny as many. But then I remember that these words are all mine, and should not be the same as others. So I'm free, to be who I want...any old time. That is such a good thing, and I think blogging is teaching me to be me, not be what others want me to be. Now the trick is to transfer this thinking into my day to day living.

  2. I am a firm believer in THAT is what makes a funnier, better, deeper blog - not comparing or even copying so much as just being you - the truth, raw as is it, is so intriguing to people!
