Daddy had a great idea out of the blue tonight. He took Matia on her first date. Totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated by this little princess girl. She got dressed up with great excitement, donning stockings and dressy shoes with care. Spraying on a little bit of Mommy's perfume and dabbing on the tiniest bit of translucent eye shadow, just like Mommy's. With a quick brush of her hair and some pink nail polish she was done and pulling on her faux fur coat, ready to dash out the door with her Prince Charming.
Dinner was noodles and spring rolls with a fancy drink to share. "It came in a fancy glass," she tells me later, "with a red straw!" whispered with eyebrows high and smile broad, "We shared." After dinner was window shopping at the mall and an ice cream treat for dessert. "Daddy's ice cream was too big, so I had to help him eat it all up!".
Simple, Sweet and a treasured memory forever.
This makes my heart smile. I hope this becomes a trend with other dads :)
