Slightly Incohereant Happy Easter Post

Happy Easter to everyone!
I have to say I haven't succeeded in the epic celebrations that my mom can always pull off, but we did a few things to reflect on this season and make it fun. Sorry to say I haven't really been very thoughtful and introspective regarding the true meaning of Easter, but we have had our moments of reflection, they just didn't happen this year at Easter, well, who knows what tomorrow may bring. Usually our reflections on the Cross and Christ's sacrifice for our sins happen in the car after church, or before bed or just about any where at any time. I know I probably should have made this time of year special, but I dropped the ball. Better luck next year. For now I'm content knowing that we all truly do understand and accept the story, the meaning and the miracle of grace to the best of our abilities and cognitive development. Lord willing there will be plenty more opportunities for me to get on the ball and really make use of the opportunity to praise and thank our savior for all he has done for us. The way we worshiped this weekend, was with good food, friends, games and fun. We even decorated Easter Eggs and ate a chocolate bunny! gasp! Tomorrow I'm going to try this with my 4 year old Sunday School class and will probably do them with my kids at home in the evening for dessert. Hopefully that will open the doors for some good conversation about the Good News.

I've been feeling better this week and am happy to say that I'm half way to my due date. Yay. I'm really happy that I've only gained 2lbs so far (since I'm heavy to start with I don't need to go getting even bigger any faster than absolutely necessary)! I'm really, really happy that my Mommy took me shopping for maternity clothes last week and it has totally helped me feel pretty again. I'm so lucky that my mom still looks after me. It is great being spoiled!!

Some of the fun activities we have been able to do over Easter break are:
  • Hang out with good friends
  • Game out at Chuck E. Cheese (we, the wives, were exhausted when we finally dragged our kids & husbands away from the games)
  • Eat out (mmmm Swiss Chalet and Coliseum Steak House)
  • Burn out (or at least burn a fire out side) and grill steaks and roast marshmallows.
  • Clean out our camper so we can have company again, anytime if you're not afraid of our red neck yard.
This week truly did go by in a blur. It was really nice to stay home, or at least not go to work. I think a few other things happened and the kids said some funny things I'm sure, but now I'm to tired to recount them, so I better stop typing and get some sleep.
